Physical Design Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with frontend design team to understand and implement their requirements.
  • Drive block level netlist to GDSII implementation to meet timing and schedule goal.
  • Enjoy working in a start-up environment.  Able and willing to wear multiple hats and do what it takes to get the job done

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • EE/CS BSc required MSEE or equivalent is preferred
  • 3+ years of work experience in physical design methodology/flow development and/or implementation work
  • Proven track record in executing thru the complete cycle of the physical implementation cycle, including:
    • Floor planning of complex/large physical design blocks (up to 4 million instances)
    • Complete placement through timing closure
    • Complete clock tree synthesis through timing closure
    • Complete route through timing closure
    • Complete static timing analysis through timing closure
    • Sign off of owned blocks to meet all checklist requirements (set-up, hold, DRC, LVS, etc.)
    • Manual implementation of critical data path blocks (pre-placement, pre-routes, etc.)
    • Integration of custom blocks and synthesized blocks into complete physical design
  • Experience with scripting languages such as tcl or perl
  • Experience in custom / data-path implementation is highly desirable
  • Experienced in industry standard tools, understand their capabilities and limitations.
  • Proven track record in successfully assimilating and delivering in a dynamic / high-energy environment
